| - Ordinarily, I wouldn't even think about spending more than a dollar on the humble Chinese bao... but something about the bolo bao (pineapple bun) at Lucullus made me ignore my cheapskate instincts, reach for my wallet and happily shell out dollar after dollar.
Because the bolo baos are their most popular bun, they are regularly bringing out fresh trays once the displays have been depleted. But be warned, once they're out, they go fast because these bolo bao are just that good; the bun is soft and fluffy, the crust is thin and crisp, and it is not too sweet. However, Lucullus is more than just their bolo bao; the egg tart with cookie crust is pretty bomb, and the cha siu bao was just as good. To top it off, the iced milk tea was rich, creamy and perfectly sweetened. However, I've come to notice that the ladies behind the counter don't sweeten it every time...just be wary of it if you like your milk tea sweet!
Lucullus would be a pretty solid place to settle down with your laptop to get a little work done. It is bright and airy, the food is great (they have heartier meals here too) and most importantly, there is WIFI. Day. Made.
Another note, I've also visited the Downtown Toronto Lucullus location and it just isn't the same. The iced milk tea was super watery, and they just don't replenish their buns as quickly.
