  • Ordered a strawberry cream cheese layer cake for my brother's birthday. It was one of the most incredible cakes I have had. This is not a strawberry shortcake type of dessert but one where the icing has bits of fragrant strawberries. I'm glad that my brother doesn't care about the appearance of the cake as this was definitely a very girlish looking pink cake. The most important thing is that the cake is flavoured with real berries. I was late in picking up the cake and the owner called, worried that I had forgotten. When I finally got there 30 minutes before closing, she was still as congenial as she probably was when she opened that morning. I am delighted to support a local business. The bakery is located on Danforth, just east of Greenwood. Her prices are competitive given the quality of her ingredients and the obvious love that she puts into her work. I also left with her last butter tart of the day. Will certainly be back.
