  • What's so COOL about Minus 5 Ice Lounge? All the ice!!! The booths, tables, bar, cups, and sculptures are all made of ice! If you're looking for a unique experience, then this is definitely something of a rare find. From my understanding, it's one of the few, if not the only ice lounge in the U.S. What's not so COOL about Minus 5 Ice Lounge? It's a minimum $25 entrance fee and you get a locker/key to put your stuff in and you get to wear the gear- jacket, gloves, shoes, and a drink. Well, I guess since drinks are already ridiculously expensive in Vegas anyways, that might not be as bad as it sounds. This is my first ice bar, but it wasn't as big as I'd imagined. I guess I was dazzled by the glitzy, glamorous scene that was depicted on the Travel Channel. Groups of people come in and out very quickly, so I doubt it's ever really packed. It's a decent sized room with maybe about 5 sculptures. If I remember, maybe an Elvis, a boxer, a telephone, and the top half of a womanly figure where you can take shots of vodka off of- maybe a couple of other things I can't recall. There's the classic Vegas sign and some playing cards. You're not allowed to bring electronics or your camera...HELLO!!! That's the whole point of paying $25 to go to an ice lounge! So we paid another $20 for a photographer to take our picture. Finally, let's be honest, after you've had your drink and make your turn around the room, (which takes less than 20 seconds), you're pretty much done with the place. We were probably out of there in less than 45 minutes. Hey, we tried to make the most of the entry fee. If you're looking for a way to cool off in Vegas, Ice Lounge is the place to go. It's a great place to go and take pictures with your friends for that once-in-a blue moon experience. If you're like P. Diddy and have the dough to get the upgraded VIP packages and sport the fur coats, go for it, but I don't think it's worth it.There's a souvenir shop where you can get expensive shirts, hats, etc., but I think the point of this place is to get the pictures to say you've been there, done that. If you want to get smashed, do that elsewhere. The vodka selection is great, but you can get free drinks at the casino!
