I've heard a lot about this place, so I decided to make the trek out to Lux Coffeebar and get some work done. There's a parking lot right next to it with ~15 or so spots. Or, you could street park for free, but it seemed a bit packed bc the nearby apt residents park there I think. It's in the same vicinity as a pizza place as well.
I slipped inside and it was darker than I imagined it would be. Fairly full - and I went at noon on a Friday. There were tons of pastries and baked goods [~$1.50-4] behind a glass barrier - leading up to a line of people ordering at the cash register. All the workers were so friendly.
I just ordered hot coffee to stay [$2], which comes in a ceramic coffee cup and free refills! The coffee tasted very smooth and not bitter at all.
The seating/table arrangement is very interesting - a combination of regular tables and just armchairs w/ coffee tables and a bar. Lux was also louder than I expected it would be - the music was playing fairly loud in the background, which made everyone else speak over that.
But overall, I would love to come back and try their actual food and sweets.
