| - Making a grand entrance is overrated...it's ALL about the leaving the club with a BANG!
I've been to XS several times (most recent on Saturday, 7.31.10) and EVERY single time my friends and I have had a blast and literally got B-L-A-S-T-E-D.
For once, the 850+ FOUR and FIVE Star reviews DON'T lie, XS is the BEST effen club there is in Vegas and anywhere else for that matter!!! And, if you don't pay a visit during your trip to Vegas, you will be missing out an EPIC night.
You can read all the other reviews on how breath-taking and awesome XS is, so I'll spare you my ranting and stick to basics:
GUESTLIST:
Only on Sundays and Mondays. There are NO more free passes on the weekends. So, beware of those "free passes" on weekends that fake promoters pass out on the Strip (they ask for $10 tip); they are old and will not work.
COVER:
*$20 for girls
*$50 for guys
A BIG thanks to James for getting the girls in free and no wait in line! We heart you!
LINE:
Even though XS opens at 10 PM, get in line NO later than 9:15 PM! The line grows FAST, so every second counts especially if you come with guys only.
If you come in a high guy-to-girl ratio (1:1 is needed) and after 10 PM...GOOD LUCK trying to get in! You should either book bottle service (3 people/bottle @ roughly $600/bottle + tips that increase the later you book) or be prepared to tip the bouncer to get in (FYI, some guys that came to XS at 10:30 PM told me they paid $200 each to get in).
DRESSCODE:
Collared shirts for guys, no shorts, tennis shoes or flip flips. HOWEVER, I've seen guys in T-shirts and chucks and girls in flip flops. But, don't risk it; DRESS TO IMPRESS!
MUSIC:
Hip Hip and Pop mixed w/ House beats. Still not a fan of the music, but it's all about the company and alkie!
CROWD:
Mixed crowd w/ 30% being Asian. It seems the age of the crowd differs during the seasons. Because of spring and summer break, there are a lot of people in their early 20s during these months.
BAR:
Three bars: 2 inside and 1 outside.
DRINKS:
Yay for $13 for top shelf liquor and shots! The last time I went to XS in March 2010 the drinks were $17. They may have adjusted their drink prices based on the increase in cover?
"THE" POOL:
A MUST GO! Ladies, relieve your aching feet from the 5' stilettos you've been walking in at the pool (only allowed in the "wading" area). The boys are now allowed to go in the pool too, but security does watch them like hawks to make sure their pants don't get too wet, otherwise you will get kicked out.
And, if you like to leave w/ a BANG, jump into the center of the pool! You will be nicely escorted out (through the back), so ONLY do this before you decide to leave! My friends and I decided to jump in before we left and it was definitely the highlight of our trip! You can only stay in for a mere second before security spots you, so make sure to have a friend ready to snap pictures. And, beware of all the stares you WILL get on the way back to your hotel.
RESTROOMS:
One inside w/ 20+ stalls and one outside w/ 10 stalls. There's never a wait for more than several minutes--THANK GOD!
SO REMEMBER...
1. Get to XS NO later than 9:15 PM.
2. Make sure ALL your friends are w/ you when lining up. There are NO holding spots for friends, otherwise they will get kicked OUT of the line. So, make sure your lagger friends are on-time.
3. If you're a guy or go w/ a group of guys and want to get in, get there early, book a bottle (3 people/bottle),OR be prepared to tip the bouncers.
4. There are NO longer GL or "free passes" on the weekends, so do NOT get them from people who claim they are "promoters" on the Strip.
5. Ladies, buy a pair of cheap flip flips and switch them off w/ your stilettos when you're near the front of the line. TRUST ME, your feet will thank you.
6. All CC transactions at the bar require your ID, so remember to get it back from the bartender after signing your bill.
7. If you book a table, request one inside or right near the pool; that's if you want to meet people (the cabana area has less foot traffic).
8. Do NOT get caught dosing off b/c the bouncers will escort you out ASAP. HOWEVER, sliding them a Jefferson or two may prevent you from being ousted.
9. Do NOT jump into the center of the pool unless you're ready to leave b/c you will be escorted out. However, there is such a thing as "accidents" right?. *cough*
10. MOST IMPORTANTLY, LIVE BY THIS MOTTO: How you live shouldn't concern others. It's how others live & what they do unto others that they should be more worried about. It's Vegas after all and just about anything goes, so let go of your inhibitions and have the time of your life! :)
