| - What was supposed to be: A 5 hour trip, from 3:30 am to 8:30 am from LV to LA where I would sleep and occassionally wake up to rotate.
What happened: Greyhound cancelled their 3:30 am ride from LV to LA without prior notice, without bothering to call their customers to warn them. The next one wouldn't arrive until 7:30 am and would take 8 hours to reach LA. So instead of arriving at 8:30 am, I arrived at 3:30 pm.
As big as a company Greyhound is and since we are in a recession and all, you would think that able bodied drivers could have been called upon to substitute drive the bus. But hey, greyhound is only a nationwide company, with funds, and a CEO, that spends ad dollars to promote themselves, and charges tons of money to ride a bus... So greyhound basically screwed up. Oh but they continue to screw up through out the night, morning, afternoon, and day while I spend my many hours with them, cringing at their incompentency and lack of training. I blame their bosses, truly because these people probably don't make a ton or are not allowed to think for themselves.
So everything was late, late, late, but to top it all off, the bus drivers were RUDE and yelling at all of us. And no greyhound personnel bothered to explain anything to the passangers about how all these rides were cancelled or delayed so we the CUSTOMERS were all confused as to who had priority over the other passangers. Communication is key Greyhound like what I am doing now. I am communicating to a huge amount of people in a polite concise and entertaining manner. I know, shocking.
By the way, while we are all waiting, I found out some interesting tidbits from the people around me:
The 1:30am to LA also the 5 hour express was also cancelled. They also would arrive at LA at 330pm.
The Denver to LV bus was 6 hours late.
The Phoenix bus was already X hours late and when I was leaving to go back to LA, their bus was delayed an additional 2 hours.
To top it all off, there was no compensation/voucher or foot rub for the lost hours we spent at the bus station, standing in line, on the bus, not getting to what we were supposed to do at our arrival destination.
