I wanted to see a show as a gift for a birthday celebration. Second City did not disappoint and I had a great night!
Ambience: We got to sit up close to the front. Seating is first come first serve, so get there early if you want your choice of seating. Be advised, as with a lot of live theatre, the front row is usually what I call the "Spit Zone" since actors have to project to the audience. I always recommended maybe a little further back so you aren't straining to look up at the actors. I enjoyed the place. I will say that the chairs are incredibly uncomfortable. I think the taller stools in the back are more comfortable.
Staff: They are friendly and always smiling when helping. They come to offer to take drink and food orders before the show and during intermission. Unfortunately, it is a little distracting because they brought over things during the show but they tried to be subtle about it.
Show: The sketches are great! Went and saw "Click Bait and Switch" and was laughing through most of the night. Of course there are always a few duds here and there but that usually comes down to personal preference. This show was clearly geared towards our current generation's obsession with blogs and social media, so if you aren't as updated on current events some jokes may go right over your head. They also did some improvisation after the show which was also top notch.
If you want a nice night out and want to enjoy sketch comedy I'd recommend Second City in a heartbeat!
