I enjoyed my experience with Madison on Tap. There are a ton of options with minimal lines and the benefit of climate control, taking place in the Alliant Energy Center.
+ Some really great discoveries - 2017 seemed to be all about the fruit
+ Short lines for samples; the longest I waited was maybe a minute or two
+ Quick entry despite the line wrapping around the building
+ Lots of space to move around, not too many issues with crowding
- Bathroom lines are long, long, long, even with the addition of port-a-potties outside
- The music is way too loud - they're trying to amplify it through the entire space, but it's not necessary and makes the seating area deafening
- The map only went as specific as zones, and most booths had their banners hung in front of the tables instead of up high on the curtain behind them (if they had a banner at all). This made the brewers hard to locate and there were a couple that I never ended up finding on my list.
Overall, though, the fest is large but manageable and affordable at around $30.
