| - You know when you and your friend have a sudden crave for Sushi and you'll both think of the same awesome sushi joint to go to? This will not be the restaurant we both will think of.
Got here at around 4ish. We were the first there for happy hour. The server said we can seat anywhere and when we wanted to sit at the table near the window (was for 4 people, but absolutely NOBODY was in the resto, and we were thinking we were gonna order a lot anyway), the server was kinda iffy on sitting us on that table since it's for 4 people and we were just 2. *Rolls eyes* But he eventually said that we can sit there since they were pretty dead.
Looked at the happy hour menu, pretty decent, good pricing. Okay time to order. We got the Las Vegas Roll (ive had better), spicy salmon roll (awesome for 3 bucks, real tasty!), spicy crab roll (meh), bbq ribs (never order this, it's hard and tiny and pricey for itself) and ocotillo roll (weird but okay). Everything all in all was just a big Meh. Forgettable. We also ordered drinks, 5 bucks for their specialties on happy hour. My friend got the Red Sangria. Tasted it, wasnt fruity at all. Tasted like when you mix water and red wine. Thats it. Ive had sangrias both red and white in different places and this one just blows. I had a blue lemondrop, wow, cough syrupy at it's finest. I overheard one bartender asking if he was gonna put triple sec, so I assumed I just got the wrong mix.
Ambiance though, thats the good thing here. They have a patio sort of outside, perfect when it gets a little colder. Inside screams Asia with Buddha statues and Cherry-blossom designs. Very clean and well organized.
This is a fusion restaurant. Dont expect authenticity or specialty cos there arent, at least not on what we've ordered. It's disappointing. Or maybe since we're Asian, our palette is accustomed to non fusion Sushis. But then again, the drinks though were not that great either.
Service was meh, didnt connect with us. Even if we're the only table for 30 minutes. Disappointed. Waste of 50 bucks. And maybe I'll pass if asked to try again. But real pretty restaurant though. Perfect for first dates when getting to know your date is much important than enjoying your food/drink.
