| - Ohhhh-kayyyy.... Here goes.
I was a member at this gym for about 3 years. Never had a problem, loved my trainer, loved the staff, loved the equipment.
Then... I had to cancel my membership due to traveling for the summer, an upcoming surgery in the fall, and subsequent recovery period.
That was in late June. I knew I would have to pay for the month of July according to my contract. I missed the cut-off date by a few days, but what are you going to do?
So, while I was traveling and then recovering from a rather major surgery, my credit card was being charged. August, September, October... I called and spoke to the assistant manager who reviewed all my cancellation documents and did not know why my credit card was still being charged, but he assured me he would work on it and refund my money. November... called again... Still working on it, but he was behind because he had so many screwed up accounts to go through... December... Promised I'd get my refund by December 19th. By December 27th, no refund...
So, I called the corporate office and thankfully spoke to someone who could help me. She reviewed my information and FedEx'd me a refund check that week.
Then.... January.... another charge. Of course, I call my contact at corporate again, but she probably died from embarrassment because I still haven't heard back from her.. It's almost the end of February.
Good God, people... get it together.
I am seriously thinking about filing a complaint with the Attorney General's office.
Stay away from YouFit...
I really love this gym! I've been a member now for 8 months and I am very pleased--- and the fact that I've been going consistently for 8 months says A LOT!
The facility is impeccably clean and well maintained.
The staff is super friendly.
The equipment is well taken care of and there's a good variety of free weights and machines- and there's a circuit training area for those who are interested in that. There's plenty of treadmills and cross trainers... I've never had a problem not finding a spot.
My trainer couldn't be more supportive and encouraging.
The other members all pretty much keep to themselves, which I personally REALLY like. It is NOT a pick-up joint or a nightclub. People are there to work out. I never feel like I'm being judged or ridiculed. Everyone is paying attention to their own business.
As far as the complaints on here about their contracts... It's all in the fine print, people. You HAVE to know what you're signing. If you didn't read and understand what you are signing, then shame on you. You can't just be throwing one star around because you don't like the rules. YOU agreed to them. Deal with it.
