  • The gym changed ownership a few months after I joined it got really dirty for a couple of weeks, the towels were piled up and people weren't cleaning up after themselves. They took out all the little extras like the soap, shampoo and conditioners in the showers, the ironing board and tissue boxes, mouthwash. They took out the nice pre moistened sheets to wipe down equipment and replaced them with spray bottles and dry rolls of paper. Now you have to get a towel at the front desk because people were abusing the towels and taking 6 towels per visit and leaving them all over the facility. Someone told me that the washing machines were going all day from morning till night to serve the clean towels up, and people were using them to wipe off makeup foundation that can't be bleached off. It's really hard to keep these places clean because people abuse the facilities if they can get away with it, I don't know why, but they do. It is now called Crunch Fitness. It's still a great gym with lots of equipment and never gets crowded. It has good hours and is a great place to work out. Update March 2018; Now it gets more crowded. Now there's three levels of membership and on the third manager. For some reason, you can join for $21 and $10 a month. So I went from paying $55 with tax to $11.20. They only difference being I have to bring my own towel and I don't take classes anyway. It makes no sense to have five members for a low rate, rather than have one member for a higher rate. The use of showers and hot water and use of equipment for five times the amount of people? it makes no sense. I would rather have paid a higher rate than the $55 than have hundreds of extra members paying $10 a month, most are 18-22 years old who have zero gym etiquette and most have never been in a gym in their lives. The entire atmosphere has changed for the worse, even idiots taking photos in the change rooms; a BIG no no. The music is often rap and the heat is on way too high at 78 degrees. It was better a year ago, I wonder if Fitness World will eventually take it over.
