The emerald necklace of the Cleveland Metroparks is one of the things that make Cleveland such a good place to live and work (if I didn't work so much, perhaps I would get out and experience more of them).
My assistant and I decided to grab a couple of hours this beautiful afternoon (especially when the weather forecast shows much lower temps in the next couple of days - it is December, after all) and hunt for beach glass. We were at the park within minutes, taking Waldo dog along (pets are fine here, as long as they are leashed), and walking along the deserted beach.
Warmer weather likely brings a good number of people, and there are places to cook and eat, as well as wide sidewalks for walking off that food afterward.
A good break from our Monday mania, walking along this peaceful little piece of Lake Erie beach, and taking home a few treasures. Next time, I will bring along a bag and collect some of the trash that mars this otherwise lovely area.
