| - Up until last week, it had been about 10 years since I have last stayed at The Mirage. Fortunately, we had a great stay, even though The Mirage isn't considered one of the swankier spots on the Strip. What I liked about the Mirage was that it was a large hotel with a small-ish feel. I love the decor in the lobby from the giant fish tanks to the tropical rainforest-like dome. The casino is well-kept, the staff are friendly, and it won't cost you and arm and a leg to stay there comfortably.
We shared a double room and were surprised by its spaciousness. They have undergone renovations and so the room was sleek and modern. The bed was very comfortable, the room amenities, bathroom, and TV were good quality, and they even had a really nice work space/desk area complete with outlets and two chairs. Ideal for those on a quick Vegas trip, couples, party-goers, and business types. The prices for rooms were reasonable and the check-in and check-out process was quick and painless. Ample free parking and prime location. There's even a tram that connects to Treasure Island, a Carnegie Deli, and a plethora of other dining options. While I found the nightlife to be a little cheesy (an Ink Tattoo themed club and a bad Beatles-themed lounge called Revolution), I would definitely stay here again out of convenience and when on a budget.
