I brought my full-size Rottweiler in, who was scared of the small dogs and would lick you to death before anything. He's a big baby. I wanted him groomed. I had set up the appointment with the exact guy who they told me is good with big dogs. Two hours later they called me and said that I had to come pick him up. They said they couldn't trim him because he was too aggressive. At no point did he seem aggressive to me, but instead was nervous and submissive, laying low to the ground and letting her put the leash on him. She said they had to muzzle him. They said his muzzle kept coming off, which sounds like operator error to me. They said that since I didn't specifically request that same guy to groom my dog that he wasn't there today. I was told to reschedule an appointment. Why should the onus be placed on me to ask the big dog specialist to come in? And if that is their practice, why wouldn't he have come in since I scheduled the appointment to him on the phone? The conversation was dictated to me in that annoying Valley Girl voice with the upward inflection at the end of every sentence. And when I express at the inconvenience to drive another 20 miles to come see them on another day to do the same service again with a dog have never had an issue with before, and that I wanted a discount for whatever service was rendered, I abruptly got the rehearsed "for the safety of my groomers we're not going to do any more with him today." Then in the same conversation she said they were going to dry him brush him and try to clip his nails. If he was really that aggressive, they wouldn't even try that. I question the truthfulness of her story. It sounds like they didn't want to mess with the big dog. I don't always trust a person who doesn't like a dog, but I will always trust a dog who doesn't like a person. I rushed in to pick up my wet dog from that place, and will be taking my business elsewhere.
