Overall, I really enjoyed living in the 11 building. The studio had a comfortable layout, and the pool area and courtyard were very pleasant and felt upscale. Staff were generally very friendly and helpful and I especially appreciated my interactions with the great maintenance team. It's true that the gates were often broken (new building glitches, I figure) and hallways and stairwells could get pretty grungy sometimes while the lobby area was perfectly polished daily, hmm... Residents are mostly 20s/young 30s students and professionals (the study room seems to get more use than any other common area, haha.) I really liked the community events like the occasional parties and weekly yoga. The neighborhood is not very exciting, although it is very convenient to downtown and Tempe via the light rail. Great having a Grid Bike station out front, too. I generally didn't stray far from the building at night time, but felt safe during the day. Note to future residents: the absorbent wall paint stains very easily! I also felt that trash valet was a waste of money and actually just made the hallways messier (especially when residents weren't considerate enough to tie off their own trash bags and close the lids...come on, people.) While the buildings certainly sparkle less than they did a year ago when they were brand new, I'd still say that they are a great option for [more] affordable and contemporary downtown living.
