| - We started coming here in late 2000 for a couple of years but ended up moving and subsequently going to a different gym closer to our house.
Flash forward to 7 years later and good god this place has grown. A lot more people than I remember and a lot more kids. We joined up again because, well, we had kids and needed childcare, which the gym we switched to did not provide.
This is a full service gym - salon, massage, personal trainers, group classes, pools (indoor and outdoor), kids activities and just in general more family oriented. There is a separate family locker room, FYI. If you don't want to pass by crazy kids running around the place then you probably shouldn't come here.
I've only started back up about a week but so far so good. The towels are always stocked both in the locker room and upstairs. The staff have been generally helpful. I'm still looking to start my Move-it session with a PT but they always look busy so I haven't talked to any of the PTs there yet.
The cardio and weights equipment is plentiful. Seriously, I can't imagine how someone complained about this. People should learn common gym etiquette when they are around weights - like not hogging up a machine and talking to your mate or texting or whatever. If you're sitting there, use it. Otherwise, let someone else use the machine. Sometimes I'll ask kindly if they are done when I see someone sitting on a machine for a while that I want to use. I've never had a problem with any gym I've been to about people getting out of the way when asked nicely.
I haven't had too big of a problem with childcare. My 5 mo old has had a couple of scratches and red marks on him but I'm pretty sure he did it to himself. The first time nobody said anything, the second time one of the caretakers gave me a heads up. He seems content when I go pick him up so I'm fairly confident in saying I have nothing to worry about. However, it IS pretty crazy there and LOTS of kids in the childcare center. I'm just glad they have the infant section closed off and there has to be a certain childcare giver-infant ratio. Kind of sucks that I have to call ahead. I was told by the accounts rep that I call ahead so they have enough people to come in to take care of the babies. I was told by the childcare staff that if they fill up, I have to make an appointment when there is enough staff which sucks b'c there is a certain time I can make it to the gym. Two different stories. I haven't had a problem getting my baby in yet so hopefully this issue will not come up. *fingers crossed*
