| - I have lived in the Concord area for a little over three years now and frequent the Afton Village area quite often. The unique shopping and dining experience is what draws me to the area. Within the area is a little gift shop, Elizabeth's Treasures. I've noticed the shop on my many visits, however never had the time to stop and check them out until yesterday after lunch. As my friend and I entered the gift shop, we weren't greeted. Instead, it felt as if all eyes were upon us. We ignored this feeling, as I was excited to finally find a gift shop that sold everything that I loved in one little spot. My mind was already processing my Christmas list for my family and a few knick knacks for myself!! As we made our way around the store and my excitement grew the uncomfortable feeling of our presence not being wanted was more pronounced as we proceeded to the second level of the shop. One of the clerks, instead of taking the opportunity to finally speak to us to ask for assistance, pretended as if she was looking at a dress for herself when she was really checking to see if we were stealing. Umm, HELLO?! I work in retail and know aaaaalll the tactics of scoping out shoplifters!! It was time to go... Not only have my hopes of getting all of my Christmas shopping completed in one place just got axed, but so did any potential business. Oh and as we were exiting the store, no salutations were offered. How rude and uptight can one be to not welcome business of all types? Talk about stereotyping....no thanks!! Elizabeth's Treasures, I shall see you as I pass by.
I wasn't going to rate this business at all, however Yelp! made me. So one star it is. Too bad a zero doesn't exist!!
