| - I will say that the "Axis Theater @ Planet Hollywood" is the best of the best when seeing live musical acts. Since my lady and I were staying at the Planet Hollywood Hotel over the weekend of Friday 9/29/17 to Sunday 10/1/17, we wanted the concert we had waited several months for to flow well with our hotel stay and Las Vegas experience. This was none other than singer/dancer/actress Jennifer Lopez.
I must admit, my lady is way more of a fan of J. Lo than I am. However, seeing her perform live on stage just might have changed my whole perspective of things. As far as the theater itself; AXIS houses in between 4,500 to 7,000 guests. Additionally, this theater boasts the world's largest indoor projection screen, creating dazzling and truly spectacular visual displays, light shows, and amazing pyrotechnics on a grand scale.
Since we were already hotel guests at Planet Hollywood, taking the elevator from the 18th floor of our hotel room to the venue itself was a breeze. The area where AXIS Theater is located is in the same area as the Miracle Mile Shops @ Planet Hollywood. We arrived very early, 7:00pm as a matter of fact! And since the show didn't begin until 9:20pm, we wanted to get as close as possible to the front of the stage.
We were finally let in the theater at around 8:15pm and since J. Lo was the performer of the evening, the entrance showcased all of her gowns/dresses from various movies and award shows. Additionally, they carried a ton of souvenirs and collectibles for the die hard fans. Finally, there were food & drink concessions offering beer, wine, margaritas, and snacks. We then stood in another line and finally got into the actual theater at around 8:45pm.
Since we had exclusive VIP seats, we ended up going to the stage on the left hand side. I must say, my lady and I were much closer than what we had originally anticipated! And the other J. Lo fans surrounding us were truly upbeat and in a great mood as well. Even the security guards around us were giving us tips and pointers of the show itself. They did mention we could use our cell phones but just no flash photography.
As far as the J. Lo concert itself, it went on from 9:20-11:20pm. Her performance was truly one of the best live acts I've ever had the opportunity to see in my entire life! No joke! She performed many of her past and more current hits. Her backup dancers were also on key and synchronized with every step. And as I mentioned, sitting right at the front of the stage gave me that jaw dropping experience that she was literally just a few feet away from us.
It's an absolute honor Jennifer Lopez as well as other residency artists to deliver a blockbuster live performance to their fans. There are other musical acts including Britney Spears, Backstreet Boys, Lionel Richie, Pitbull, and Marc Anthony that have performed here. So if you're looking for a truly breathtaking experience when visiting Las Vegas, I highly suggest you give the "AXIS Theater @ Planet Hollywood" a try. My rating, a unanimous five-stars.
