Went online to book a room with Expedia. Found the hotel but needed to see if they are pet friendly. I dialed the number for the hotel that is published on Expedia's website. The agent answers and when I ask if they are pet friendly.
Him: response was what hotel would you like to stay in?
Me:I let him know name, city and state of the hotel.
Him: what are your travel dates?
Me: I gave him the dates then asked are they pet friendly.
Him: How many rooms would you like to book?
Me: I am looking to book two, are they pet friendly?
Him: Let me double check on the pet friendly, how many adults are in your party?
Me: Three.
Him: OK, they are not pet friendly but I can find you a pet friendly hotel. Him: Great News, good thing you call at this time. Your price for 2 rooms 3 night would be $167.94
Me: What would the total be?
Him: let me double check.
Him: $167.94 would be your total.
Me: Is there a pet fee
Him: Let me double check, Yes there is a $50 pet fee.
Me: ok so my new total would be $217.94
Him: Correct
Him: The pet fee can not be collected today, the hotel will collect it when you arrive.
Me: is there any other fees.
Him: Yes $8.55 per night per room
Me: Thats another $51.30
Me: the total is $269.24 not $167.94 you quoted.
Him: Yes, what credit card would you like to use?
Me: no thank you. When I asked you for the total you should have given me my TOTAL. I do not like how you try to fool the public. I know if I would not have asked you if there are any other fees, you would not have told me about them. Then when I check in, I would be upset and it would be too late to change or cancel. this is a very shady way to do business.
