| - I give the Hideout 5 stars for a couple reasons:
1. I have never had a shitty night at the Hideout
2. Live music 7 nights a week, i'm pretty sure or something like that, and the acts they have are all pretty good. For example, paige armstrong duo are a very good acoustic act, that usually play early in the week.
3. The staff are friendly, and down to earth
4. It boasts NO ego, and/or pretentiousness that surrounds many of the bars in downtown toronto on weekend nights.
I remember when the Hideout opened, they were going for a bar come restaurant. Dining in the back didn't really mix with drunken dancing in the front, so they seem to have abandoned most of the cuisine plans.
I laugh at some of the reviews of this place e.g. Alejandro.....
Go across the road to Tattoo if you want a more upscale night for rock, and dancing. BUT... I can guarantee that you will not have a memorable night. But then again, i've read some of your reviews, and i just don't know....hmm..
anywho, I'm not looking to bash anyone really, but honestly,
Anyone who comes to town to visit, I always bring them to the Hideout, and myself, and majority of people I know have all had great nights here.
Yes, they can attract drunk loud mouths from time to time as 'connie' states, But what downtown live music night bar doesn't?
So i really would take that with a grain of salt, and not let it stop you from checking out the Hideout.
The Hideout = down to earth, friendly rock bar
if it doesn't interest you,
across the road is Tattoo - Image-conscious, unsociable glam-rock bar
hah ha, sorry! but it's true.
