Big hype from friends about these walnut cakes, but didn't want to venture down to K-town to get these. Went around 4pm on a weekday and there were only a few bagged walnut cakes of each kind (custard and red bean). Not sure how fresh they were but the owner said they were fresh. They have the walnut cake maker in the store which is cool. Can't tell if they run the machine everyday and make fresh batches but at least you can tell it's baked in house. Since I didn't buy freshly made ones, they tasted OK. Not as "amazing, soft, melt in your mouth" kind of dessert I was expecting but decent for the price = 5$ for about 15 or so. Some of the red bean filling was a bit lacking. Almost like a half hollow choux pastry. Recommend for convenience if you're in the north York area!
