| - If only you could do zero stars!!! Nancy is quite possible the rudest person I have ever met in my life. They are liars there who tell you one thing over the phone and something else when you get there. And they also never mention that they are located in a Howard Johnsons across from a noisy Cuban restaurant.
To make a long story short, I am a minister. Not like a woman of the cloth, one look from me and you're going to hell minister, but an Internet one. Nonetheless, I am ordained...My sister was getting married and after tons of phone calls we decided on Shalimar. I called to book them, told them I'd be marrying them and the person I talked to said that was SOOO CUTEEE. I paid the $80 deposit for my sister and wiped my hands of it. As it got closer I called to see how long the vows could be. Two weeks before the wedding they told me that it would be an additional $150 for me to perform the ceremony and the owners may not let me. I was FLOORED! I was told to call after 5 to speak to the woman I originally spoke to. I tried for two weeks, never got anyone to answer the phone. On the day of the wedding I called to follow up. Got Nancy's rude butt o the phone who told me that it was my fault for waiting until the last minute to find out if it was okay. Not wanting my sister to have to get married in a crack den behind hooters or something I asked if I could come in and talk to them and show them my paperwork. She agreed after much hesitation and telling me no and that it was my fault for waiting. I went in and she took copies of my paperwork, told me that the owners probably wouldn't let me and took my extra $150 payment and said she would refund me if it turned out that I couldn't do the wedding. She then also said that the owners said what's the point in me doing my sisters wedding in Vegas, we could have just done it in our backyard. Well, considering we live on opposite ends of the country...Whatever, I digress...
After much back on forth with Nancy which included her telling me that the evening person said that I lied and I never told them I was doing the ceremony. I have never, in my entire life, had someone flat out call me a liar from behind the counter. Again, I couldn't haul off and slap the woman, my sister still needed to get married. SOOOO
I went across the street to the Little White Wedding Chapel where Rene saved the day. That woman was my little angel just as much as Nancy was a demon spawn from hell. She accommodated a SAME DAY wedding for me. LOVE Rene from Little White. (Shameless pitch)
Once things were set up across the street I went back next door and told her not to worry about what the owners would say, that I wanted my money back and nothing more to do with the place. She said she would refund me.
A few hours later I check my bank account and find that Shalimar charged me an additional $113.
Gloves. Off
I called Shalimar and once again got the hell-spawn Nancy who told me that I was charged $113 because I didn't cancel the wedding soon enough so they charged me the remainder of the balance. Now that my sister's wedding was secure I let Nancy know exactly what I thought of her and her Ho-Jo Shalimar Garden and let her know that I wanted every cent of my money back as I booked with them under the impression that I could do the ceremony. She promised to refund the money.
Flash forward to a few weeks later I just got off the phone with my bank to expedite the "pending" refund of some of the funds but I am STILL out the original $80 because they didn't refund it. GRRR!!
I plan to file a better business complaint because I really don't think that it is a good business practice to call your customers liars when you don't provide the service that you promised.
And to Nancy-go to hell. Literally. I will use every ounce of power in my internet ordainment to help you get there.
