| - Wow!!!
Of the 12 bridal boutiques I have visited since I started my wedding dress shopping extravaganza, this one is by far the best in all of the "departments" that should be considered.
Service:5/5. When I first sent my appointment request for a Wednesday morning, I wasn't expecting more than an e-mail back, confirming the time and date. What I did get was an e-mail from Charmaine saying that she has received the request, a phone call the next morning from her to let me know that she's officially booked me in, and a call the night before to remind me of my appointment. Point one for service.
Hours: 5/5. Yes, they're closed on Mondays, but it's a private business. Even wedding-happy Charmaine and her posse of wonderful helpers needs a break. Other then that, JB opens at 11 Tuesday to Sunday and closes late enough that you wan "wander" in at late as 7pm for you appointment.
Atmosphere:5/5. This may have been my first bridal salon, but it was also the best. The space is clean and uncluttered. The huge front window is shielded by a curtain, but there is still lots of natural light. When trying on dresses, you become the centre of attention. It's done so that you're the most important person in the world. Super fab and super special!
Stock: JB carries more of the higher-end wedding designers, but that doesn't mean the prices are ridiculously high, either. If you're looking for a dress under the 800 dollar mark, I'd suggest Wedding Dresses for Windfall (inexpensive AND proceeds go to charity), or other charity dress shops. Otherwise, this is the place. The dresses I tried on ranged from 1000 dollars to 4000 dollars (cheaper than Dina Alonzi!), and all were fabulous. Among the designers carried here are Maggie Sottero, Enzoani - Blue, and Jai Bridal. There are about 150 dress samples in store.
I did purchase my dress here, and Charmaine makes sure the "yes to the dress" moment is extra special (surprise!!). My dress will arrive mid to late April, and I will update my review once everything is done!
