| - I consider myself a very picky tenant. I've lived in truly horrible places and survived the worst I think apartment living can dish out. Before moving to a place I do my homework. I've been a tenant at Mountain Gate for almost a year now and have nothing but praise.
I love reading the posts of my disgruntled neighbors, as this let's me know who to avoid. The best part is that I always like to meet and maintain an open dialog with the front office of places I live. It's my home and I like to know where to take any issues I may experience. I've had the misfortune/benefit of being in the office when a few toxic folks were airing their grievances. Hilarious!
I did not live here long enough to experience previous management, but the current is near the top of the heap that I've experienced. No one is perfect and I don't always agree with some policies but I was aware of them before I was handed keys. Who is dumb enough to sign a lease without reading it!!?? After a hard learning experience years ago, I don't sign even app terms without at least skimming them let alone a lease that locks me somewhere for a year.
Just so I don't ramble too much the highlights of the reviews I read complained about management, marijuana, and maintenance.
MANAGEMENT:
Like I said, didn't know the previous, but have had what I would call gross inconveniences handled by the current manager promptly even if I wasn't completely satisfied, it was explained where she couldn't grant or allow certain requests. Get this! She showed me in the lease where I overlooked it. #burn I learned though. So LOL at whiners.
MARIJUANA:
I don't use myself, but it's legal, AND in many cases medicinal. I have friends and family that use it for migraines, cancer, and epilepsy. So kiss off about that. I hate the smell but that's something you can mention to management. One of the reasons I moved here was it's NON SMOKING. If they do it outside and I walk through a plume I grumble and move on , but if it's in my home then I'd find the source and then talk to management. Most places are pretty accommodating when you give them solid info over a tantrum (haha witnessed an adult one ... hysterical I recommend seeing it at least once. It'll warm your soul )
MAINTENANCE:
I too have had a few maintenance issues since moving in. The first couple months were irritating, but about my fourth month here, something lit a fire under them cause every work order I put in the system with their app (so cool btw) was done almost immediately and they even gave me options to have the work done mornings or afternoons to accommodate my work schedule. I've learned that an honest approach to any problem when you have a legitimate issue always gets the best results.
Huge shout out to them! You dudes ROCK!
To sum it up, do your homework. I have some new friends who've lived here since the property was built and love the new team because they saw the old and the changes are a breath of fresh air. I've always thought people who do nothing but complain (and you can check that out) are trying to hustle something
