| - We first Hired Bumble Bee Plumbing to help with plumbing after a house fire. We had no problem while they were installing over $10,000 worth of work. However, less than two years after we moved back into the home, we have started having plumbing issues. We, of course, contacted Bumble Bee again. This time, they cancelled the first appointment we made. When they did come out, although everything was less than 2 years old, we got a bill of almost $900.00. We have lived in 30 year old homes for many years and never received a plumbing repair bill this high. This home was only 11 years and was rebuilt from the studs up two years earlier. This price tag was very concerning. Bumble Bee could not provide a good explanation why everything they said needed replacing should have to be replaced so soon. At one point, Mike the owner, told me that the City water must be bad. One of the reasons for the expense was that Bumble Bee never told us that the tankless water heat it recommended to us needed to be flushed every six months. Bumble Bee knew we had concerns installing a tankless water heater but had talked us into it because of the size of the water heater we would need with the plumbing upgrades we had made. When I asked why we were not told when it was installed, we were told it was not their job to give us this information. The owner, Mike, also denied that he had ever recommended the tankless heater. We were very disappointed in his lack of integrity. I have since learned that you only need to flush it about once a year, less if you have soft water. Bumble Bee blamed part of the problem on the fact that our soft water system was not working properly and Mike told us that we needed to have it checked. We did and received a bill of almost $130 to be told it is working fine. Because I was so upset over the needless cost, our water softening company reduced the charge to $85. Bumble Bee was aware that I was now battling stage IV cancer and was having obvious issues with walking due to the chemo and radiation treatments and that my husband was working two jobs since I was unable to work much (Mike from Bumble Bee and I specifically discussed these facts). Despite this, after causing us to waste time and money having our water softening system checked, Bumble Bee made us wait over a week for them to deliver a new pump. When we had not heard from Mike after so long, we reached out to Bumble Bee to find out when the equipment would be delivered, as we needed hot water. We were told we had to come pick it up ourselves. I explained to Mike that my husband could not because of his two jobs and that I could not drive because of my cancer treatments. Then, we were told by Bumble Bee that it would eventually deliver the new heater pump, but they refused to tell us when that was, despite knowing we were not getting hot water. Ultimately, we were able to get our hot water problems fixed for less than $150. We will never work with Bumble Bee Plumbing again.
