The Distillery District sounded like a place worth visiting, however, I was underwhelmed. While I appreciate what the city is trying to accomplish - creating a place for locals and tourists to spend their cash - I believe they fail miserably. We came here in the middle of July and found the entire area to be empty, more or less. There were very few people in the area. I thought that the galleries, shops and restaurants were pretty weak as well. Nothing really stood out as being particularly exciting or interesting. If I ever find myself in Toronto again, there is a slight possibility that I would give this area another chance, but those chances are slim.
