I can't believe I hadn't been to AZ 88 before. So last weekend, I came for lunch (in the midst of the Scottsdale artfest) with my step mom and her mom. There was a 45 minute wait for patio seating, but we snagged a table inside, but right by the open patio (so pretty much on the patio) right away... nice! We decided to share the cobb salad and the self proclaimed best grilled cheese in the world between the 3 of us. The salad was decent and a large portion. I had mine with the balsamic dressing, which was fairly standard. The grilled cheese was alright, but certainly not the best in the world... not even the best in Phoenix. It was cheesy, but the cheese wasn't really melted (maybe it had sat for a bit before being delivered?). Anyway, it was fine, but nothing special. The fries that came with it were also nothing very special.. just plain waffle fries. The portion was large. The bill was also large... a salad and a sandwich, no drinks... 30$!?!?! whoa. I would possibly go back if I were in the neighborhood, but I wouldn't seek it out.
