  • From the start, it didn't look too promising considering most of the people in line were children. Ticket line moved quickly. I went with a party of four. Two of us had VIP tickets, and two of us had comped tickets. While waiting in the regular line for Hotel Fear, an employee with a radio came by and checked for VIP tickets. We made it clear that half our party had VIP and half had comped. Regardless, he said that we could all go to VIP since we were all together. Our stubs are taken in the VIP line and right before it is our turn to go, the previous employee comes back and notifies us that we must pay $10 to stay in the VIP line. We proceed to go all the way in the back of the regular line, losing our place and adding an extra half hour onto our wait. That seemed like a scam to me and left a sour taste in my mouth. I tried putting that all aside going into the haunted house. As a previous reviewer said, yes, it's scary for children. All of Hotel Fear was in the pitch black (probably because they didn't have enough actors to scare you continually). Nothing too surprising. The Asylum was one small step up- there was much more to see, more actors, and more unexpected scares. Still, probably wouldn't be worth the wait. It took us less than 10 minutes to go through it and that includes time where we got lost in the house. TL;DR: Tried to scam us into paying VIP, if you can only choose one house choose the Asylum, not too worth the wait or $$ unless you have scaredy Cats or children with you. TIP: Buy VIP tickets from Costco! Two houses for $20
