I'm not one for lines and hyped up Ice Cream, but I was pleasantly surprised by ihalo. I just so happened to have stumbled by 5 minutes before they opened and decided to give it a try. At the time, the line was no more than 15 people long. However, 5 minutes later the line began to span down the sidewalk.
Unlike some of the other hyped up Toronto ice cream shops, ihalo's line moved fairly quickly. Not to mention, when it started to rain outside their clerk quickly ran out to give people complimentary umbrellas while they waited.
The staff were super fast and friendly despite how crowded the place was. I had the coconut and ube swirl and was pleasantly surprised by how good the ice cream was.
While I may not become a regular (given how long the line typically is) ihalo is definitely worth a try if you just so happen to be around when the line's small.
TIP: Go before 1:20pm if you'd like to get one on a weekend without waiting too long.
