2 weeks ago I ordered a top hat at Tux 1 on Charleston for a gig I have coming up. Young girl took my name and number and said she would have to order it and it should be here next Thurs (which was last week). She told me they would call when it was in. Not hearing anything for days after it was due, I called them yesterday. I was told that nothing is ordered without a credit card being taken. This info was not told to me initially or I would have given them my number. When I expressed my dismay, she gave me to her manager. He asked what he could do for me. I told him the situation and he said, "so what do you want?" I said how about a little customer service? He said and this is a quote..."We are in the middle of prom week so I don't need to give you customer service. I have plenty of business. You are also not getting your hat. Anything else?"
Obviously, specialty stores like this believe they are immune to customer service because they will always have business. but if this review can save one person the humiliation of these condescending people, than I hope it works.
