Well I have to say this was the best Chinese dinner I had so far while in LV. Many locals and tourists/small groups come here to dine. It looks new so I'm guessing they remodeled or changed owners recently. The drawback is that this place is hard to find being located behind the main Chinatown plaza on the backside. But it's worth looking for if you're in the mood for something different or wanting to spice it up.
The restaurant isn't huge and you most likely will be served by the lady in charge. She speaks Mandarin and is pretty nice. The menu is sectioned off and specials are recommended -- she can give you advice if needed. It looks like this place was given ratings by local dining reviewers (newspaper articles on wall). The Chinese cuisine is more northern style with more spices and hot peppers which kept people warm during cold winter nights.
We were able to try a handfull of dishes as our party consisted of 5. We had a plain but fragrant taro soup, 'melts in your mouth' pumpkin squash dish, talapia fish, spicy eggplant & string beans, hot kumin lamb, and pickled long beans. You can ask for spicy or non-spicy depending on your hot pepper tastes. All dishes were great and we had plenty of food to go around. It reminded me of some meals I had while in Asia. Just thinking of coming back here to try other dishes makes me hungry again. good LV stuff!
