| - I would like the give this facility 2.5 stars, but thats isn't an option.
First, let me say i have experience in kickboxing. The young lady at the front desk, carlin, and brent are great. They are very personal and friendly. There was a guest instructor, thomas today. He was cool as well. He generally trains at another gym. I like the overall friendly vibe.
I purchased a Groupon. 10 classes, plus gloves, and a 40 min personal training session. I have attended 4 classes. The music is ok, but im a little put off that there is 1 small locker room and 1 bathroom for each (men and women). I like to workout before work. I can't freshen up prior to work and there are no showers. As for the classes themselves, they are just ok. I find myself getting bored. They don't seem to be active enough for me. There is a 15 min warmup, 7, 3 min rounds on the heavy bags, then partner rounds. It seems like the same fewer moves with little variation. No focus pads and mitts. Burpees, yes, but not often and it just doesn't seem like enough. No tabata variety. That happened during one class, but it was the last 3 mins of excerice.
And then there's the price. I was given the price options. I am no way near cheap, but this place is way over priced for what it offers. $149 per month for 7 months or $129 per month for 12 months. Then the punch cards are even more expensive. I can't see myself spending that much money for what it offers. I'm going to finish my remaining sessions, but i will be looking into other kickboxing gyms and programs.
