  • Let me first start this by saying....the show itself I found entertaining. Way better than I imagined it would be....but still sup par to other shows on the strip (i.e., lack luster dancing, pulling up the same type of girl, forgetting choreo, etc). This review is for what happened at the bar and during my conversation with 'management' due to the situation. I purchase a drink....an $18 margarita (no not worth the price). I use a card, $0 the tip line and provide the bartender with a cash tip. He thanks me and it's a normal transaction. Until I go to use my card directly after the show for some food. It is at this moment I find that this bartender took a tip. You see, I used an AmEx gift card...which means I know the exact amount I should have left. But that was not the amount left. I pay for my food (with additional cash) and go back to the Chippendales store to speak with someone. (I should note I was getting food from Smashburgers which is right next to the theater and store for the show. Initially, I was told to go inside and find the bartender. I said so I'm suppose to ask the man who was not authorized to take more money from my card, why he took it. She said, yes! I promptly asked for a manager and one came out with in 5 minutes. I told her what happened and she looked perplexed. She said, well that's weird. Do you have a receipt? Of course I still had it and provided it to her. I advised that had this been a normal credit card or debit card, I wouldn't know what was done until days later. She said I'm sure there is a mixup let me check. She comes back and said that the bartender went home sick (dude, really?!?), but that she was going to work with the bartender manager to find out what happened. Then she gives me a poster because, heck, I guess she didn't know what else to do. She comes back with a duplicate 'receipt' (which was really a duplicate 'bill' and said no, you were only charged the $18. She went to say maybe the card authorizes more for a tip and that I should call the 800# on the card to check. You see I was a cashier for years....and at a bank. I know that's not true. Tired and truthfully appalled that she is covering for a bartender who essentially stole money from a consumer...I let it go and said whatever I'll call. I did call and found that I was charged $21.60 for my one freaking drink. So my advice, if you do drink at this lovely establishment...pay cash. And know that even though they don't want you to tip the dancers, the bartender (who failed to make the dancer cut) will gladly steal (I mean take) a tip from you!
