  • WORST SEW-IN EVER!! I feel bad leaving this, but I hope is that the constructive criticism will bring about some improvements. The first thing I noticed when I got there was how hot it was. They did not have the air on and the doors open and big fan running. I spent the entire time I was there sweating, keeping my hair from blowing in face, and swatting flys and nats. Ok...so let's start from the beginning. I original had an appointment for a sew in w/ a closure w/ stylist Remee. When I got there she greeting me but I could tell she may not have been well. She said a really bad headache just came on and started on my hair. She excused herself for a few minutes and said it was getting worse and that she would have to go home and asked if I could reschedule. (Note: I am human and completely understand that things happen. I put zero blame/ responsibility on her for that.) So I couldn't because I have a fitness competition in 2 days and was very busy preparing for it...and I had just driven an hour to get there. Another stylist named Keisha then told me that the daughter of the owner could do my hair but that she would have to go get her. I agreed and don't mind the wait. They were polite and professional so I had no reason to worry at that point. The owner is great so I figured her daughter would be too. About an hour later she arrived and starts to braid my hair. She excused herself for a second and returned w/ Keisha to inform me that she doesn't know how to do sew ins. I reluctantly agreed to still go ahead w/ the sew in. Keisha left the salon and then the daughter informed me that she was just going to braid my hair and that Keisha was actually going to do the sew in. At this point I started to worry about. The confusion and lack of communication was starting to get frustrating. The daughter finishes braiding my hair and left shortly after. I then waited another 2 hours in the salon waiting for Keisha to return to complete the sew in. I considered leaving but remember that I had paid a $50 deposit. So she returns and get started. About half way through my head was throbbing. This was not my first sew in and I know some stylist make it nice and tight but this was BEYOND!! I suffered through and she informed me that she couldn't do payment by card and that I would need to go to the ATM. At this point it was 11:30pm and I had a 5pm appt. She didn't even have to style it properly. I hop in the car and take a good look at and it looked horrible!! The tracks in the top where the leave out should cover, is completely exposed and visible and almost impossible to cover. That top track is also so tight that it's bunch up and sticks out. I also wanted to the hair to fall more on my face and it is NOT. It is away from my fave. The shop is professional and friendly l, but make sure you do your research on your stylist and ask to their work. I was also surprised to find out that only one stylist knows how to properly install a closure. If you are looking for a salon w/ up to date sew in techniques I would look elsewhere.
