| - Coming from the West-end of the GTA, this place was something new for me. A banquet hall/ dim sum place. Came here with a couple of friends for an early morning dim sum grub.
*Call in advance if you are coming in with a big group on a weekend as this place gets super packed!!!
There's lots of parking spots and this place is easy to find.
On weekdays before 11am...dim sum is 3 dollars is what I understood. Weekends and weekdays (after 11am) is regular price for what it's stated on the paper.
We ordered a bunch of things such as: chicken feet, tripe, custard buns, siu mai, tentacles, beef balls, crispy taro with meat, har gow, and egg tarts, just to mention a few. We also ordered a bunch of vegetarian options for the non pork and vegetarian peeps.
Everything tasted great! Especially when you're recovering from a hangover. My fave would have to be the har gow and the taro with pork crispy dumpling. I don't even know if you would even call them dumplings. But thank you to Ping Ping for ordering that! Super crispy, I loved the taro texture and the flavour of the pork inside. The Har Gow was full of shrimps just the way I like it. Very filling and fat! Mmm..
My least favourite would be the tentacles. I found it over cooked, chewy, and rubbery. That was a shame because tentacles is a staple in my dim sum books.
I would give this place a solid 3.5. Service was fast and efficient. Food was great but it's nothing new to me. Coming from the West-end I wouldn't travel all the way here just to eat here, but if I was in the area I would definitely come back for sure!!
