| - We have an autistic little girl. Since water is the leading cause of death for people with severe autism, this had special significance for us. We also had to pay additionally for private lessons only for obvious reasons. It was worth every penny. The individualized attention to detail, patience & care that a kind, young college age young man provided our daughter was wonderful. When our daughter was finally safe to swim alone 3 years ago, it was not "conventional" at all; given her limitations. I would tell people back then, who had not seen her swim, that she had perfected her "Drowning technique" lol! Her head always tilted to one side, barely above the water, & treading weakly with mostly her right arm. She was always giggling & squealing with delight! She still does, only now, years later, all of those "quirks" have faded away as well.....:)
