| - I would avoid this company, as I believe them to be predatory. I smelled a gas leak around my firepit, called the natural gas company and their rep confirmed the problem. I then called them for a list of licensed plumbers that could handle natural gas. I chose Straight Line because they could come out right away. It was easy to see that I had some corroded piping but their plumber wouldn't do a thing without my signing a contract for $326 for his "exploratory" work, with no guarantee. My mistake was agreeing to this, but I wanted to solve the gas problem and get things up and running for guests. Honestly, he spent about twenty minutes to dislodge some bricks, dug around a bit and found more corroded plumbing. I asked him to dig deeper to find piping that could be worked with, but he said he would go no further as his "experience told him things were bad all the way back to the house. He then quoted me almost $1700 to install new piping....no firepit components, just the piping. I was obligated to pay the $326 for twenty minutes work, sent him away. I hired a second approved contractor who dug down two inches or so, found a non corroded pipe to attach new piping to and completed the work, including fixtures valves, pea gravel, etc. for a little over $700. I am not much for posting but wanted to take the time to warn other folks. I would award zero stars if I could!
