| - Long story short: After five visits, I ended up paying this company money for saltio tile that looks worse than when they started.
Long story long:
I called this company in February/March of 2012 to strip and reseal the saltio tile in my kitchen. The first time the technician came out, he cleaned and resealed the tile (h did not strip). Immediately, the tiles began peeling where old sealant was bubbling up. I called and simply asked, "Is this the best I can expect out of my old tile?" The very nice woman who answers the phone said, no, and that they would" make sure I was satisfied." It was determined that the same service man would come back out to strip and reseal, and that I would pay the cost of the service, minus what I had already paid.
He showed up again to talk to me about the job he did, and discuss what I actually wanted done. He showed up again another day for an appointment that we had cancelled. He said it was good that we were rescheduling, because he didn't have his equipment with him. (?!) He looked at the tile again. (I wish he would have backed out of the job then, if he felt he couldn't do it.)
He came back again to do the job, complaining about the hours of work ahead of him, and how hard it would be. I left with my three-year-old and my infant for four hours. When I came back, he was in the front yard. I said, "How'd it go?" "Not good," he said, and walked inside.
He stripped about two feet of the kitchen. He did not seal. He took my check for 300+/-, and left.
After this, it took me weeks to speak to someone other than the receptionist because the owner because he was on vacation. Finally, they can back out. They said they couldn't do it.
I said I wanted to pay for what was done--about 2 square feet--since they charge by the foot. The owner refused, and said I had to pay for their supplies, but he graciously said he would "eat the labor cost." I was pretty infuriated that I had to pay for supplies that were not used, for a job they did not complete according to their contract. He said he'd think about my proposition, and call me.
They sent me a check in the mail. No phone call.
I thought about fighting more, but at this point, it had been such a long and infuriating process, I decided to take my meager refund, and vow to write some reviews to save others from their incompetency and poor customer service.
