| - I'm on the fence about Pure Sushi. We did have a good visit, the waitress was pleasant. Service was good, but not exceptional, nor terrible either.
We came mainly for the happy hour menu, and the soft shell crab we saw on Yelp. They no longer have soft shell crab as a regular item, but were able to give us the soft shell crab with a nice baby green salad for $14. I can say $14 is a little steep for any soft shell crab and should be executed perfectly for that price. I would say at best this crab was $8 soft shell crab. The batter was a little heavy hiding the true deliciousness of it.
The happy hour items were surprisingly decent for their prices, and would probably only recommend this place if you are coming for their happy hour. The Korean BBQ Pork Ribs were delicious. I found the Sliders a little too sweet and over sauced (both came with huge piles of shoestring fries, we preferred the sweet potato ones to the regular ones).
The Pure Crunch roll was good, but not exceptional; we preferred the creamy baked lobster roll. The edamame was good. The Shrimp tempura was good, but only included three pieces with a giant bowl of sauce (I'm really not sure why they give so much sauce for so few shrimp).
We also ordered two peach iced teas, which were good, but completely unsweetened. The bill came to about $50 before tip. The softshell crab definitely brought the price up, otherwise it would be a fairly reasonable meal.
The main reason I'm giving this place three stars is that nothing really stood out as exceptional and that the regular menu is a well a little overpriced. As I said, only come for happy hour!
