Century Link Lies and is shady.
I called to find out how much it would be to switch from Cox to Century Link. He quoted me a price. I then asked him about their special I saw on the internet about Direct TV.
The salesman stated that he could save us quite a bit of money without having to cancel our current Direct TV service, and all we would be doing is getting a bill from Century Link instead of Direct TV. He would also 'throw in' the 2016 NFL Sunday Ticket for free. Since I am a woman, I did not want to be taken advantage of, so I got my husband on the phone call to hear exactly what the salesman was telling me, as it sounded too good to be true. My husband also spoke to him and asked if it were true. Joe reassured us that it was the real deal. So, after almost an hour on the phone, we signed up.
2 days later I get calls from Direct TV wanting to schedule a time to come out and connect our 'new service' that we 'requested' from them. That was a red flag, as Joe had told us we don't need to do anything.
Last night I called Century Link to inquire on why I was getting calls from Direct TV?
They stated that we had to set up new service with Direct TV.
What? I was told I did not need to do or change anything with Direct TV. I feel I have been taken advantage of. Not to mention the time wasted in getting it all set up, and the time wasted in having to cancel.
We called to cancel everything we signed up for, and they acted like it was not big deal & that they could care less that I was lied to.
Completely inexcusable.
I would like the recorded phone conversation in which Century Link repeatedly lied to me.
I will have to follow up to see if they in fact did cancel our service today. They said there was no confirmation number for canceling.
Please do not be fooled by them! #centurylink
