When I drove up to this hotel I was nervous, but the Clarion Hotel Airport & Conference Center exceeded my expectations for a hotel of this price and in this location (i.e. Across the street from a strip club).
Our room smelled vaguely of cigarettes, par for the course with older cheap motels. Yet it was comfortable and had a nicely sized flat screen TV.
The beds are always the make-it-or-break-it moment for me with all hotels, and this bed was great! No nasty, nubby bedspread covered in stains of unknown origin here! No squeaky spring mattress in this joint! Rather a white, pristine bed with the white, washable duvet cover ubiquitous at most modern hotels.
Clarion had really nice staff as well. They were personable and kind, with the type of customer service skills you remember. The gentleman who operates the shuttle is especially sweet!
This Clarion is definitely not the nicest hotel, but its adequate if you are on a strict budget. Its within walking distance to an greasy (Mexican) spoon and the light-rail, which you can ride to more sophisticated locales.
