The Tee Pee is what it is: a neighborhood staple for around 50 years. It's gringo Mexican food, a lot of beef and cheese and grease, and strong drinks. It's not the best in town by a long shot, nor is it the worst. It's just a longtime hole-in-the-wall type of place that's been around for several generations of families who are used to its quirks. The bar room is a great, dark place to while away a hot day, and the tight orange-boothed dining room is straight out of 1960. Service is usually friendly and efficient, and many servers have been there for many years.
I see some reviewers on here complain about the food or atmosphere. I agree the atmosphere is a bit divey and food on many occasions leaves a lot to be desired in taste and quality. Yet I find myself going back over and over, as do lots and lots of other people. You know, maybe you just have to live in the area to "get it?"
