I recently got married in Las Vegas and booked the Glam Squad for my hair and makeup. I am pretty good with hair and makeup but I wanted to pamper myself and relax and enjoy the day. After seeing pictures and reading tons of A+ reviews I was comfortable with booking my appointment. I was underwhelmed to say the least. The team arrived and got to work. One guy just set everything up while the other did my hair and makeup. I showed picture examples of what I wanted etc. I specifically said I didn't want to look too "bridal." He got to work curling my hair with a straightener which is fine but that doesn't give you the curls I was after but anyway he pinned each curl and started the makeup. He never asked what look or colors I was interested in or what skin type I had. I did pay extra for the airbrush makeup though. He did my eye makeup in like 2 seconds and then started on the face. I noticed though that instead of actual airbrush makeup he was just putting a NARS foundation into the airbrush machine. Airbrush systems require a thinner formula so they can move through the machine and create an airbrushed look. You cannot achieve that with a thicker foundation. I could tell when he was spraying my face that nothing was coming out then I felt a sputter of foundation on my face. He then blended it in with a brush so again why did I pay extra for airbrush? It took him all of like 30 minutes to do everything!
The end result: bridal hair with lackluster curls and tendrils along with way too much black eyeliner and cakey looking face makeup.
I'm glad I had enough time to take my hair down and add more curls, repin it up and tweak my makeup!
All in all, if you know hair and makeup just do it yourself and save the money!
