We liked our current sofa because is was built well and was comfortable and although it wasn't shabby in any way, it was "faded" and a bit dated.
After we were disappointed in the new sofas we saw we decided to get a quote from Sit-Well. It is a family owned place and Frank (the father and apparent founder) gave us a quote. We wanted the sofa to have a certain look, and we wanted a skirt around the bottom and matching piping on cushions and armrests. He quoted us $800 and estimated 3 weeks time frame.
We toured the shop and they had a crew working non stop. There was plenty of work going on there. We checked the reviews and came away feeling we could accept their quote.
We got our sofa back and frankly it looks better than new. The workmanship is flawless. It is "as good as it gets!" The price was as quoted. The timeframe within 2 days of the estimate.
We have asked for quotes on two more upholstered chairs and will have them done after the holidays.
If you're thinking about buying a new sofa, ask these guys to tell you whether the one you have is worth re-upholstering (for some the basic frame doesn't warrant it but they won't hesitate to tell you the truth).
Frank showed us the fabrics he has, and told us two places to go to see a broader fabric selection. He told us what to look for in fabric construction so as to be sure we selected something that would hold up over time.
We would recommend them to anyone, they're not just good upholstery people they're good people.
