Great summer retreat for little tykes--educational to boot!
Fourth of July was celebrated by a breakfast spread of pastries, fruits, bagel/cream cheese and juices. Yes, the employees are that awesome!
There are ongoing themes for months at a time. As an example, Extreme Pets are now featured in the next few months. Awhile back it was on anime. The kids and I loved the giant Totoro!
Quite a bit of space for interactive play, expecially when they relocated the gift shop, which used to house fragile artworks. Suffice to say, I'm glad they got rid of that section entirely and expanded the useable space. Make sure you check online to register for classes and workshops.
A section called Artville, is for younger children 5 and under, a cool reprieve fromour hot summers. There are comfy chairs and padded benches all around while you watch your little ones explore to their heart's content.
As far as snack breaks, there is a family lounge with table and chairs free for use. Vending machines line the back of the room. We usually bring our own food or walk to the nearest restaurant outside the museum.
The $7 pp admission is reasonable (under 1 year free). I usually buy the $50 10-visit pass and save $20 off the general admission. It expires in 2 years from date of purchase.
