I have visited NCC maybe a handful of times now and have really enjoyed my time there. After finding out about their Groupon deal last Monday I decided to bring my family. We arrived as a party of 7 around 6:30 PM and found no one at the desk. There was about a little over a dozen of people there already, few of which were all around the center boulder in the middle of a lesson. After about 10 minutes or so, an employee turned around, told us that he didn't see us standing there and that someone else would be around shortly to check us in. When said person arrived, he checked us in, got us our shoes and began talking to his co-worker regarding how busy they have become with their Groupon deal. From what I can remember, he mentioned that they needed more employees to keep up with their traffic. I don't disagree with that sentiment at all; he did make some valid points. I do, however, feel like there could have been a better time to discuss staffing... maybe after closing perhaps? Or in the morning before opening? It felt a little complainy and put a little damper on my family's first expression of the place. Regardless, we still had a great time climbing together. We shared a few laughs and even got a great workout out of it.
