| - I moved to Pittsburgh a year ago, and have been a solid fan of NOLA until last night.
I had out-of-town guests and wanted to show the city off to them, thinking that a dinner at NOLA would be a great introduction.
Well, I failed to reckon that it was Friday, and, further, did not know that the live music was starting during prime dining hours.
What an embarrassment.
We were somewhat removed from where the singer was but, still, it was so loud that we were not able to attempt conversation. We had much to talk about, but NOLA clearly was not the place. I know that there are fans of ear-splitting music, but it completely ruined our evening. After exiting the restaurant, it took us a while to stop shouting at each other to be heard.
And NOLA, as you may know, is not cheap. At the risk of setting off the ¨If it´s too loud, you are too old" crowd, I wonder if NOLA would consider postponing the music until after the time when people are normally eating their meals. Or toning it down a bit.
As usual, the food was delicious, the service was great (I have forgiven the restaurant for the time I asked for a pepper vodka martini that came with a layer of ground black pepper on the bottom of the glass) but any enjoyment was destroyed by the painfully loud music.
I would like to come back, NOLA, but...
