Used to love everything at Maria's - especially the beans and rice and the spinach quesadilla. So delicious!!!! Everyone I brought there agreed it was some of the tastiest Mexican food they'd ever had - well worth the less than convenient location.
Then one day they changed the ingredients. The cheese tasted plastic-y and fake, the spinach didn't taste fresh, the beans and rice lost their flavor.
It's clear that they've cut corners over the years. I'm sure they're trying their best to survive, but the food they once served - about 5 years ago - was so unbelievably good, I would make special trips way out there (25 minutes away) weekly. I hope they will return to the better ingredients they once used.
The staff is always pleasant and the prices are great. The beans and rice aren't as good as they once were, but still some of the best around.
