| - Yes: clean, comfortable and quiet room, great view, friendly and competent staff, fast and tasty room service
No: parking expensive and terrible signage makes getting to and from garage confusing, pool out of order for Presidents' Day weekend
I booked here because of the location near the university and the lake views. The Edgewater has a spa, but was hosting a youth hockey group event, which kinda killed the relaxing vibe I was hoping for. Since the spa was pretty much booked, I hoped to enjoy the pool, but that was closed. (To be fair, they removed the resort fee from my bill when I pointed this out).
And that resort fee? I really hate it when a hotel quotes you a price and then tacks on resort fee and other miscellaneous fees, in this case adding $28 dollars to the cost. Add $18 for parking, and the $140 room becomes $186. Just tell me what is the total cost up front, and I won't feel manipulated.
