| - While in high hopes of celebrating my daughter's birthday somewhere kitschy, fanciful and fun, we decided after a session of indoor skydiving, it would be Serendipity 3 on the strip.
Having been to the NY and Miami locations previously, we were greeted with the same color palette as the other locations, but the general splendor I remembered was lost at the Vegas strip locale. This one felt dull and a bit on the rundown side to me. Our large table was lopsided and sloped to the left a bit, the pleather seats in the booth had small rips.
Making a 6:15 reservation and showing up 20 minutes early, we were happy to hear they still had our table for 8 available and the wait wouldn't be necessary. After being seated, and perusing the menus of salads, pizza, burgers, hot dogs, and of course a wide variety of ice cream sundaes on the back, we placed our order.
While our drinks and food seemed to take an extraordinarily long time to arrive, I must say our server was quite nice.
Their bathrooms were out of order so we had to walk over to Caesars to wash our hands or use the facilities which I personally found annoying, as with younger children present, using the bathroom is about an every 20 minute necessity. The walk is a about 10 minutes each way.
Basic children's menu items such as grilled cheese, Mac and cheese, hamburgers and teddy bear pancakes were ordered, the adults chose the Chinese Chicken Salad and grilled chicken sandwich. Everything was just okay, nothing was outstanding (other than my daughter loved the grilled cheese).
Each child ordered a smaller sundae, the vanilla ice cream with brownie and hot fudge was a hit, the chocolate ice cream with whip cream and rainbow sprinkles was said to be good. However, the famous frozen hot chocolate tasted like burnt plastic, not good at all!
Bill minus tip was $235, not ridiculous for a party of 8 on the strip. Would I return again? Only for a specific occasion as the poor food quality, inconvenience of parking, no bathroom in the restaurant and lack of whimsical ambiance was not impressive enough to bring me back anytime soon.
